  • Switching jobs - FSA

I have an offer for a new job (yay), but don't know what happens to the money I've contributed to my medical spending and daycare accounts. Do you know what happens to the money you've set aside but haven't spent yet?

They can either transfer it to a new account if your new company has one, or they'll give it back to you which then becomes taxable income.

I would call your HR company. In my job history of working in different states that have had FSA accounts its been, when you end your employment and have leftover FSA it is kept by the company. Here is a link from the popular financial site that explains some more about FSA: http://www.kiplinger.com/columns/ask...2009/q0402.htm
