Well, after a year and half of fretting that my career was dead in the water, I finally landed a new job! Woohoo!! I start September 8.
It's for Penguin Books and I'll have my own office (bye bye, cubicle) and my own assistant (bye bye, scutwork). Plus I'll be working for a major publisher which should offer me more opportunity to grow in a publishing career, unlike my current job, which is very nice but offers almost zero hope of promotion from my current position, which was becoming pretty disheartening.
Plus, this was the interview from which I walked home six miles in high heels during the blackout, so at least I won't have gone through THAT in vain.
My head is swimming with all the implications of this change (I've been at my current job for 4.5 years--the entire time I've lived in New York) and today I'm floating around on cloud 9, so I can't think straight anyway. Just wanted to share my joy for now!
