  • I was offered a job!

This is too funny. The principal at the school my boys will be attending in Indiana called me last week and asked if I wanted a job teaching band at the school. I am really only certified to teach choral and general music, but my Dad is a retired band director (and will only live 20 minutes away from me once we move) so I told the principal if I was his only hope, I would get my Dad to give me a crash course over the summer, but he said he had other options BUT (here is the part I love) he had been so impressed with me when we met that he really wanted me at the school....he thinks I would be great with kids!

So now he is my new best friend!

Seriously, I told him after that how interested I was in getting the school involved in a program that Indiana has called "Circle the State With Song", as well as having kids from the school participate in Solo & Ensemble Contest, and he was all over it and even said he has been wanting someone to lead a choir at the school! That is really my strong point, so I am excited to see what will happen!

That's great, Sally! And what a compliment.

You seem to have a knack for finding a job when you aren't looking. This sounds like a fun thing for you and your dad to do together, too.
