  • Why I hate being the boss, Part II

Someone stole company checks and forged my name on them and the bank cashed them!! I am Sooooooo mad. the worst part is that the money was from the client's trust fund. Of course the company has reimbursed the account but what steams me is that it has to be someone that knows our system (i.e. internal) and someone who doesn't care that they are stealing money from developmentally disabled adults. Bastards. Not to mention that it's MY name that they stole. Lord knows what else they're forging my name on. I can't think about it too much or I start to really panic.

    very scary-

Jenn, I can't believe this....how truly awful! What is going to happen? Obviously no one will blame you, right?!!!!!! Have you all been to the bank and contacted the authorities...At least your company was good enough to put the money back in the account for the client....

I feel so badly for you...I would be so upset!!!! What will be the next step? Have you done a check of your credit report just to be extra certain that things are ok?

That is incredible---- and scary. That whole process really took a lot of thought on someone's part- muich more so than just stealing some cash out of a drawer.

So, have you figured out who it was yet??

Nope, we haven't figured out who the culprit is. I have plenty of suspicions but I can't waste anymore mental energy on this. The good thing about my field is that there's always a new crisis on the horizon to make the last crisis go away! I hope they do an investigation through the bank- and I hope the police do one on the forgery- it's at a felony level of money at this point (opver $2,000- FYI) so.... we'll see.

Now, I must go waken the snoozing spouse and drag him off for din-din. He had a bad night on-call and thankfully his boss sent him home 4 hours early!
