  • Registered for classes!

Well- I made the first big step yesterday. I registered for 2 classes. THat's all they had available at this late date. I'll be taking Intro to black and white photography (which I am SOOOOOO excited about!!!!) and Intro to sculpture. I start classes on Monday. Showing up on that first day will be the next big step.

I"m getting pretty psyched about this. I'm also pretty nervous. I keep thinking- what if I'm no good at this? What if everyone there is a lot better than I am & I look like the dummy in the class? What if all my pictures come out blurry and my sculptures look like lumps of clay?

Now, I just have to find a job that will work around this class schedule...... No word yet from either of the places I've interviewed. I'm still not getting too worried about it... yet.

    Wendy,

WooHoo! Congratulations!!!!!! I'm so excited for you..It really takes courage to make such a big life change. You WILL go to class...if I have to come up and drag you there

"What if all my pictures come out blurry and my sculptures look like lumps of clay?"

You mean when you invent a whole new style of art and your enigmatic pictures and clay sculptures become worth a lot of money? You are going to be great!

      Congratulations - you did it.

Your art is your art, don't ever compare it to someone else's work. You will be great.

Thanks! Maybe you'll see my photos on a big exhibit touring the country one day. How cool would that be?! I'm really excited about it. I've still got to figure out exactly what building these classes are in. They use some kind of abbreviation code that I'm apparently not privy to yet!

I just got a job offer from the Visiting Nurses Association! They are willing to work with me regarding scheduling of hours and allow me to work 35 hours/week instead of the full 40 (which is pretty much exactly what I wanted.) I can also get full benefits at 35 hours/week. I tell you what, you gotta love having a some leveraging power when you go to look for a job. It is really something to be able to say "Here's what I want and am willing to do." and to have someone agree to it! EVen better, the benefits will kick in the 1st of the month after I start. I strongly implied that I would take it, but haven't signed anything, yet.

It's funny how things come together sometimes.
