  • Why I still hate my job...

    These tightwads....

Christmas Eve is a payday. I have repeatedly requested that my staff be allowed to get their paychecks on the Friday before a Monday holiday if that holiday is a Payday. I mean really- my staff start at $7.25 an hour and live paycheck to paycheck- the morale boost would be more than equal to the piddly amount of interest they earn keeping our money in hte bank one extra day. So the incredibly generous spirits agreed to pay them the morning of Christmas Eve. Great. I think they all need to watch the "Grinch who stole Christmas". A**ho88s.

Wow, Jenn...that really stinks! It seems like that is a problem in most big groups...the little guy who does all of the work tends to suffer more...When Thomas was a resident/intern, we paid for his white coats, meals, etc...now that he is finished with training and is making more money that stuff is free...we sure would have preferred to have it the other way around.

Good for you for going to bat for your employees...you are true to your nickname "caring counselor"...wish I worked for you!!

Maybe you can rent out the Grinch and play it at the company Christmas party...or do you guys even get to have one?

      Kris-

The corpys have a lovely catered affair- they don't even invite we facility directors.

Our Christmas party is actually taking place on Halloween this year- we decided to have a Halloween Party/Open House to show off the new building to the parents and other agencies.

The actual Christmas party will be me taking out my staff for lunch and each group home having a little something among themselves.

UGH- can I make it until June 2003? I'm just gonna have to have a baby.

Good for you for being a thorn in their butts! Everyone needs a boss like you at some point in their life- it shows you that all bosses aren't "company people" and that some actually do have a heart and some compassion.

I hope they appreciate you on boss' day!

Just for the sake of countdown.... June 2003 is 20 months away....less than 2 years.... we will make it (it's Dave's graduation).....
