  • ...on the bandwagon...

...well, after much consideration and some general time constraints, I am now an offical college student again. I am once again on the road to greatness....or something like that. That is what I keep hearing from my cheering section anyway...
After attending eight colleges/universities/and junior colleges, I will be enrolled in two more, yes that is right- a grand total of ten to finish what was started nearly 15 years ago! And if that wasn't enough, we have the possiblity that I may not finish while we are living here....oh joy!!

Just some information to share, I have over 130 credit hours, yet I only have an associates degree thus far. Seems that college level football doesn't really count toward an Accounting degree(or Chemistry, as that is where I was headed in the beginning)...go figure.
If I really strap in and work hard I could end up with a masters in accounting within three years. I would be able to start the core courses, but I am missing some important ones- one year of foreign language, calculus in business, and a humanity-like art history/music history. I have some upper level credit, but I need to back track some first.
So, I am taking one class at the university I hope to graduate from, and then the others from the local community college.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know....Luanne inspired me.

Now to work on scheduling what classes I have time for.....

You go Matt!! I took classes when we were in Boston and it was such a great break from daily life. The best part was finding out that my brain actually worked after all these years. You'll have so much fun. (Although it is hard work, too!) What are you taking? Let us know when you know!

Can we come to graduation? Can you time it to graduate in December? I'm sure that we'll call be thrilled to scream your name in Florida in a December or two!

              Congrats and go for it!

Matt that is great, now I have a study buddy!!! Check out online courses too, they are kind of neat. I have 2.5 weeks left of my first semester.

                    Matt -

Congrats!! Let me be the first to welcome you to the wonderful world of accounting!!! It's a great time to be in this field, while so many changes are taking place. The regulation side has been revamped since the Sarbox legislation. I just wish I was learing it now. There was little scandal back when I was studying it (just the cheesy Ponzi schemes). Now, it's probably better than an episode of "Dallas"!!
I've been in public accounting for almost 6 years, but have a renewed interest in it since I have decided to REALLY get serious about the CPA exam. I am taking time off from work to really study this time around. PM me if you want to chat about debits and credits or even crazy stuff like holding losses and derivative presentation I think you are really going to like it- keep us posted on your progress.

                        Matt!

I am proud of you! I am looking into getting my teacher's license back (I will need to take six hours) and then perhaps into getting a master's in counseling. Getting the hours for my license will let me dip my toe into the school thing without having to commit to anything long term right away.

Let us know how it goes! If you take a music history class.....I volunteer to be your tutor!

                          Matt,

Might I suggest "rushing" into a Fraternity house? I think that the younguns' have it right. We could all use a kegger or two.
