Does anyone here have any career changes of their own that they have to make after the whole residency/fellowship thing is behind them?

Interesting question, Kris.....I have always assumed that I would go back to school at some point and probably change careers, but a few days ago I surfed the net and looked at masters' programs in a variety of areas that I have interests, and nothing really appealed to me. It could be the stage of life I am in, but it all seemed so remote and I don't have any big career plans. Maybe it is just my pride that wants a master's degree? If that's it, I should get it in whatever I want -- something totally impractical, but the part of me that grew up with a single mom has a hard time dealing with that.

Does anyone know of anyplace on the internet where there are free aptitude-type tests? I am a lot different than I was when I was 17 and choosing to become a music teacher! I still love to teach, but the 33 year old me is not near as likely to put up with the b***s*** that teachers go through with kids, parents, and administrators. Especially since (hopefully) we will never again need my income to live, like we did when we were first married.

    Just rambling.....

I can't see myself ever working in a different field. But I really get tired of it, too. I think I'd like to take sometime off to just NOT work. I've been working since I was 15 years old. I didn't even stop for college or grad school. So- my goal is if we move after residency (if he doesn't get the fellowhip straight out) I'm staying home and chilling for a while. Or so I imagine. I'll probably be bored out of my mind after one month.

I saw a test somewhere online that was free.... I am in the middle of a big job hunt myself... having just moved across country from Florida to California!

Here's one to pass some time until I find the other test. This one is free too.

Ok, I found the other place that offers testing... If you register through HotJobs.com there is a place within them that offers testing... It's in the Career section. I haven't looked at it yet, but it seems to offer 3 types of career/personality testing.
