Any sculptors here?

I have worked for others but never done my own pieces (because let's face it, it was all about the money for me...art slut). I found a clay studio that has given me permission to fire in their kilns. Since I was given the clay in the past I don't actually know much about types. Is anyone knowledgable? I was told the kilns fire cone 3-4. I know I have to read up on it...I'm just cheating looking for cliff notes from someone experienced.
