I am very suspicious of any person who works on commission. This is my issue I know, and does not mean all realtors or sears appliance people or electronic store employees are out to get me.

We have bought and sold houses by ourselves, and have never used a realtor. Where we live, if a house is pretty marketable and in a good neighborhood, it is fairly easy to buy or sell FSBO. I like the idea that when we sold our house we paid no commission to anyone. When we signed the contract with the buyer, he and DH worked out the details over 2 beers . But we dont exactly live in a cut-throat real estate market, like San Francisco where a realtor is a necessity.
