We're still leaning toward leasing though. I'm pretty sure our needs would change in 2-3 years and so will our means. Just like we're not ready to lock ourselves into a house purchase. I think leasing is like renting, overall majority feels that it's throwing money away but in certain situations it's the best option.

I do not know that I would do a straight out lease either. But as I mentioned, the hybrids have worked for us. Again, depends on your lifestyle. How far you drive, how much wear and tear you cars endure. In our agreements normal wear and tear is included...door dings, small rock chips(less than teh size of a dime), etc. BTW I would never recommend this to a friend whose car is always a dump and who now drives around with an ink stain (permanent) on her back seat where an uncaped marker stained through her bookbag onto the seat. She did not notice it for weeks.

I have done the hybrid 6 times. Three times I have traded the car in before the "lease" was up. One of these cars had been repaired after I backed up onto a metal pole. Only once have I turned in the car at the agreed time. Then, I only had to pay for replacing a cracked fog light that I just had not gotten fixed in time. I turned the car in that time because, due to the market, it was worth less than what I owed and therefore would not have gotten much out of it if I had traded it in.

Also, DH is mechanically challenged yet is always lusting after new and improved models. I know that this is our luxury - we always have cars that are no more than 3-4 yrs old. For me, I also like knowing that if anything goes wrong, it is covered under the full warranty and that I have the latest safety features. :02:

Has anyone had a bad experience with the hybrid lease?

Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!
