    my new found joy....or not!

i finally took the plunge and started online bill pay. i love it....but i dont! it stresses me out to see the bills all lined up. what an eye opener for me!!
i love not filling out checks and rushing to the mail box, wasting stamps and praying they arrive on time. major bonus!

but, holy crap...did i mention seeing them all lined up was a major eye opener.

I LOVE online bill pay - at the beginning of the month I can plug each bill in and the date the bank should send it then it is out of my hands for another month, I just don't look at the amounts.

Once postage got to the point where I had to ask for a financing statement when purchasing stamps, I became savvy in internet banking. I *mostly* love internet bill payihng, but it can be a pain if things change around. For example, lets say you move a couple of states away and have to change banks or something. Your student loan payment can get all hosed up because you closed up one account and for some blasted reason the new account debiting didn't work. If you're in the middle of a move, it might take like 5 days to clear it up after the due date because your DS didn't set up internet in time.

Take my hypothetical follies as a warning...,keep a hard copy of all your accounts and contacts/password in a safe place. And then remember where you put them!

Another thing I love about online bill paying is for bills that stay the same (rent, cable, etc.), I set them up to repeat for a year and don't have to worry about remembering every month.

Love the online bill pay! It is so much easier and faster. We are switching banks on Monday, so hopefully we won't have any problems but I do appreciate that warning about student loan payments - something I haven't considered. BTW - I am so happy to be leaving Regions Bank! Regions has a crappy online system. I routinely get double-charged for things I use my debit card for due to Region's CRAPPY system!

I also use online bill pay. I have some sort of post-office / mail deficiency, so skipping the middle man is very helpful for me.

Online banking is the best, I am not sure how I'd manage without it. I hate papers, so the nice thing is when I get a bill in the mail, instead of tossing in the "bill box" to get paid later, I can go online and schedule it to be paid later and then shread the bill so they don't get piled up.

Bank of America has a wonderful bill pay system and it's free! Hopefully we won't have to change banks when we move. I am not sure how other banks work, but BofA lets you schedule the bill for the date it's due not the date it needs to be sent to arrive on time. The reason why that's great for us, they don't take the money out until the actual due date. It give us a little more wiggle room if it's towards the end of the month.

I also use BofA. You can set up recurring bills for those that don't change too.
