Banks Suck

Okay I am looking for a new bank. Bank of America has changed their checkcard policy. Gone are the days when you can use your checkcard like a credit card and float stuff. For example, before if you know you are getting paid on Friday, you could use your checkcard on Thursday because the money wouldn't come out until Friday or maybe even Monday.
That beautiful time is now over, the money comes out immediately now. But the funny thing is while your credit card would be denied if there is no money, the bank will simply charge you an overdraft fee and pay the charge. In addition I just saw where DH went to the ATM to withdraw money and he was charged an overdraft fee. That makes no sense, if there is no money he shouldn't have been able to pull it out.

So in closing anyone have any bank suggestions ?

Two words: Credit Union!

They are soooo much better than banks. Dh and I will never go back to a bank! Try and find a credit union that you qualify for.

Washington Mutual, anybody?

I turned to them a few years ago, because at the time, they were the only bank that didn't charge a fee to talk to a teller.

We use USAA (for everything) so if you're remotely related to anyone in the military, check them out.

(my friend has them because her husband's ex-wife's ex-husband was in the Navy... tenuous at best but once you're in, you're in.)

I agree with the CU, we LOVE ours and I'll never go back to a "regular" bank. DH's family pulled all of their BofA accounts a few years ago, he was so pissed a few months ago when his credit card company was bought by them.
