    Re: Rebate checks

We should get $1800-- $300 per kid, and $600 b/c I don't work and we didn't owe taxes...

I read an article that says the disbursement of deposits is based on the last 2 digits of the social security number that's listed first on your return--- starting with from 00-29, then 30-69 (I think), etc. So we're in the second group there--- maybe we'll get ours next week?

We bought a Wii.... Not sure how I feel about that. It's probably not going to be opened until school is out. Now DH is obsessively checking ebay for good deals on games. He's going to be my biggest problem when it comes to overuse of video games...

You're instead paying for those of us who do get one...

Hopefully we'll be there with you someday-- not qualifying for this type of thing...

              Re: Rebate checks

There is no free lunch. I was adding this up and thinking $2100 was headed my way but checked my taxes and it is much less than that. I think we are on the edge of the phase-out. Then I realized that we are likely taxed on this next year (right?) which means they probably should have just kept it in the first place!

I would say debt, but I know us.

Man, we super suck at saving. $1800.

Either way, it is going in the savings account/ LA survival fund.
Our $600 went in the bank yesterday!
So.... we got a (cheap) camcorder. But the rest will be savings!
I figured out that we paid less than $600 in tax so no wonder that is all we got back.

And b/c your baby was born in 2008- if he was born in 2007 you would've gotten $300 for him.

Anyway, have fun with the camcorder!

yeah - no. not eligible for any good write offs, but also make too much to get any "rebates".

Rebate should come this week and is going to (help) pay off the final HVAC loan. Not exactly what the bushies want me to do with it but hey- it's money that I don't have to divert from elsewhere now.
