I dont make much and so we can't afford to pay our sitter much but DD isnt her only kid. I am so grateful to her so I gave her $60 at Thanksgiving with a card saying that she was at the top of the list of blessings in our life. For Christmas I will give her $100 and a personalized ornament that says "Thank heaven for Ms. Carol, Love, Minnie 2012"

I won't get a bonus but I remember how much even just $100 meant at Thanksgiving when I was in private practice.

I'm not full-time so I guess it's different for me, but I would much rather receive a heartfelt gift than money.

Gotcha! We all do what we gotta do. FWIW - I can't even express the amount of admiration I have for what you're doing and your attitude while doing it!

I made handprint ornaments with DD so I'm definitely going to include that. Plus I will have DH write her a nice note because he won't be able to express his sentiments to her when I take her to lunch.

          Thanks for the input guys!
