  • Corporate card question

I have an AMEX card for work. I only use it for company related purchases, though I am allowed to for personal purchases if I pay it off.

I submitted an expense report June 17 for an amount that was due July 7. I got confirmation via our company's expense statement system that it was approved and sent for payment later that week, but when I logged in today, AMEX is still showing it as unpaid. I'm not sure what the hell happened and I'm trying to find out...but does anyone know if this will ding my personal credit? I've never had a late payment before and I am pissed.
Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Does that card show up on your credit report? My AMEX is through my personal consulting company, and still doesn't show up on my credit report. AMEX does do late payments and credit reporting differently than others. If you miss payments, they may cancel your account (supposedly for years they wouldn't issue a card to Oprah bc in her early career she had late payments).

I wouldn't worry about it. Those cards are issued using the company's credit and the company is entirely responsible. Your name is only listed as the user and the card is not tied to your SS # and/or personal credit.

Even though it's allowed, I wouldn't use it for personal expenses except in an emergency. If you pay it back right away, you may as well open your own account to build up your credit and earn pay back rewards.

My corporate Amex also never showed up on my credit report.
