So, I've started doing this (although I'm behind with my "deposit" for this week), but I'm doing it in reverse. I know that things are going to be tight around the holidays, plus, I'd like to have some cash to put towards the conference Anyone else doing it? Any plans for the money?

Besides the conference, most of the money is going towards DH's residency graduation present (a Saddleback bag). Once Jan 2015 hits, I'll probably start again, or maybe I'll do 26.50/week (which is what it all averages to).

I do something similar. every two weeks, I take out the same amount of cash from the ATM. I charge groceries, gas, etc, but there are a good number of things I only buy with cash. Anything that is left when the next two week period rolls around gets put in the safe, and I withdraw the same amount. I try to pay cash for H's gifts so he doesn't see EXACTLY what I spent on him.
