Investing in surgery centers?

I already asked this question on the FB Physician Finance board, but thought I would ask here too. Who has experience with investing in the surgery center your spouse operates out of? Can you share the good/bad/ugly? Anything specific we should be asking or looking at?

We’ve invested in one. No bad/ugly stories from me. So far, so good. Agree with ST, I read lots of threads on the WCI forums before we decided to invest. If you have specific questions let me know!

Dh has an ownership interest in the profit sharing at the ASC where he operates. He also has a small interest in the LLC that owns the ASC real estate. The profit sharing interest has been very lucrative. It’s one of the best financial choices we’ve made.

I guess the drawbacks would be the quarterly meetings he attends to manage the administrative matters and working and compromising with the other partners regarding OR time and other equitable related issues. Some of the partners are from a competing medical clinic so it can get a little tricky. However, the drawbacks pale in comparison to the benefits.
