  • The Money Book for the Young, Broke and Fabulous

This should probably be in the book reviews section, but I'm reading this book by Suze Orman and it is great. Her delivery of what could be incredibly boring material is actually quite good so I don't have to force myself to read it. Her advice is practical and you don't feel like she is talking down to you and making you feel like an irresponsible idiot for making bad financial choices. She has a website with templates to help you build a financial plan while reading the book--I haven't checked those out yet, but plan to soon.

I love Suze for exactly the reasons you mention. I think it is great that she doesn't make people who are in financial trouble feel like losers. She claims she's been there herself - and managed to put her life together and start making good choices. I also like that she repeats the mantra "People first, then money" so often on her show. I haven't read this book yet, but I should. I also want to get her will and trust kit and see if it would suffice for setting up our trust.
