  • Gone!

So, my husband took one for the team and got rid of his dream car, the BMW M3. For an Audi A3 station wagon...

But on the upside, it gets better gas mileage (by a LOT), is saving us 100 bucks a month in car payments and reduced our car insurance by 400 bucks a year. (and the insurance will drop again once we move back to Texas.)

I promised him that when we get settled and figure out our lifestyle, he can get another dream car if we need a car.

    Yay!

    Jenn

PS- We looked at the Honda Accord Hybrid, the Honda Element, the Saab wagons, the BMW wagons, and the Lexus 330 and 400 SUVs. The Audi was more in line with what we needed (basic car) and we got an excellent price because it was the display at the Washington DC Auto show- and since it had thousands of people climbing in and out of it over the week of the show- they knocked off a lot from the price. Something to keep in mind if any of you are near car shows and need a new car. Figure out the dealer that's showing them and ask about the display.

The car got good training for its future occupant!

    Enjoy!

      ooh, station wagon, ooh.

      Congratulations.

My dream car is a old Volvo wagon.

DH had his dream car already, a 1974 Mercedes 450SL. What a pita. Something like 9 mpg. He sold it so we could get the Honda

The important question is, does the Audi have a name yet?

Nope, nothing's come to me yet. But it took awhile for Otto (the M3) to let us know his name. Nigel was immediate but of course, what would you expect from a Mini. Now, my room-mate from college had Jerome (the Chevette) and Walter (the gold Golf) and her mother had Chelsea Cleo the station wagon...

I'll let everyone know when we do!

This is a great idea. I would have never thought of it. How's your DH handling the separation from his dream car?

Congrats on your new set of wheels, Jenn! What a great suggestion about the car shows. I would have never thought of that. Love the names, Nellie. I vote for Audi Doody!!

Yeah - Audi Doody is awesome! Nellie - you've got to come up with a name for my Dyson. I feel so bad - like I just use and use and I don't have the decency to give it a name.
