    I hate Taxes!

    Dh got his first paycheck this week. We totally underestimated the taxes he would be paying. The federal taxes weren't really the problem - it was the state taxes! Ouch!

    We forgot that we are back in the state of outrageous incomes taxes- 9%. I'm so happy to be back in Oregon, but I'll take Pennsylvania's income tax anyday over Oregon's. We have even more belt tightening to do now.

      I know. I don't have warm fuzzies about the absence of sales tax when we get that state tax bill. That was a reality check with the resident paycheck and I know it will just get better!

      Thank you Cheri! That site looks awesome. I've been using one through the Wyoming state employee website for federal taxes (they don't have a state income tax). This should work much better.

      ETA: I'm going to put that calculator in a sticky. I think we are having too much withheld from DH's paycheck but couldn't figure that out with the paycheck site. I'll also post the IRS withholding calculator. Sorry for the hijack.
