Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

On Tuesday, Smith and the diet products company TrimSpa Inc., for which she is a spokeswoman, were sued in a class-action lawsuit alleging their marketing of a weight loss pill is false or misleading.

Smith also was order by a judge to have baby daughter undergo paternity testing. The test is being sought by Smith's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead, who claims he is the father of Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. She was born Sept. 7 in the Bahamas.

Less than a week after the birth of her daughter, Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel died in her hospital room while visiting Smith after the birth. An coroner's report ruled the death was caused by an overdose of anti-depressants and methadone.

Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year.

She then feuded with Marshall’s son, Pierce Marshall, over her entitlement to the tycoon’s estate before he died in June at the age of 67.

In the long-running dispute, Smith had won a $474 million judgment, which was later cut to about $89 million and eventually reduced to zero. In May, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Smith could continue to pursue the fortune in federal courts in California despite a Texas state court ruling that Marshall’s youngest son was the sole heir.

rumor has it that howard k. stern the lawyer/lover/suposed father to the baby killed the son, now anna nicole. in hopes that the paternity test will prove he is the father, then he gets all the millions thru the baby.

she was some sort of screwed up. it seems that no one cared enough to force her to seek help.

that is so sad. I saw an interview of her last week, and she looked so sick and sad- very plastic looking, as though she had way too much plastic surgery going on. I feel bad for the little baby girl, granted her mother may not have been the most morally reliable person, but not only is this little girl going to be fought over for who knows how long, but she won't have a mother.

Well, regarding the son- street methadone is pretty easily had and it's a bad combination with other stuff, particularly if he wasn't a heroin addict. Pretty much most methadone would kill the general population unless you're already an opiate addict.

So...my point is that it's not hard to see that if he wasn't an addict, methadone could easily have killed him.

and any joe blow can get diverted methadone from pain clinics. (the methadone clinics are so monitored by the EPA that it's hard to divert from- pain clinics on the other hand...not so much in the way of monitoring.)

It's sad for everyone though.

I heard that about Stern too. I hope it isn't true. I always felt sorry for her and, unlike many, I believed she loved her ex...

I find this sad, too. I always hoped that some day she would get her life together and make a comeback, and be a testiment to people that changing your life can be accomplished. But, I guess not- and that bothers me.

What a heavy burden for her daughter to know that: her mom died of a possible drug OD, her brother (for whom she is named) died of drug OD on the day of her birth, no one knows who dad is, and she has millions of $ from a strange marriage her mother once had with a man who she will never know. How weird
