  • Chris Brown and Rihanna

This was so sad when I read about it... I didn't think that Chris Brown was the type of guy to hit the woman in his life!

So sad They seemed like they were happy together. He should get help.

Abusers abuse. People who grow up around abusers abuse. It's an extremely hard cycle to stop and according to several sources, he grew up around all kind of violence.

It's really sad, for both of them. IF he can focus on how he got there and IF he can relearn how to cope in various stress-producing situations then maybe he will have the chance to really have a relationship someday. It'll take a lot of work, though.

I think it's a prime opportunity to expose the seedy underbelly of domestic violence.

I couldn't believe this story when I first heard it! CB has always seemed so gracious and humble in media interviews....not that that is any indication of how he REALLY is, but you know. I hope Rihanna is not too badly hurt!

And I hope his career IS over. He looked like a nice kid but apparently he's got the Rage.

I hope Rihanna takes this as an opportunity to spread the word about domestic abuse and how if he hits you once, he'll hit you again.

I agree with you ladies. His career is going to definitely take a hit because she is so well loved and connected. As the saying goes "You can judge a book by its cover" and I was just so surprised that CB is an abuser. I'm GLAD she called the cops!! Most of the time, people who are abused don't call. Or they change their statements when they do. I hope she sticks to her guns and doesn't change her mind.

I also hope there will be more awareness of domestic violence. I don't think there is enough and its not as unlikely as people would think. My first summer in law school I worked in the Public Defender's office in the Domestic violence docket and its more prevalent that people would think. There was a whole court room schedule once a week devoted to it!

I hope this situation does raise public awareness and helps victims....but unfortunately, not everyone has the backing, support and resources Rihanna does.

I think it just highlights the differences between a media persona and a real life person. He can play a role in interviews but obviously in real life, you're way more multi-dimensional.

From the reports, Rihanna didn't call the police a bystander did.

I hope they both get the help that they need. I'm in no way condoning what Chris did but he's a 19 year old kid. It's very rare to get someone abusing people out of the blue, he obviously was exposed to this in some way in his childhood and was taught that this was a way to get what you want, solve problems, or control situations. He should be punished but I would like to see him also get help for a clear anger problem.

That's true, she didn't call, excuse my mistake. http://perezhilton.com/page/4/

But EITHER way, its good that the police are involved.
