Hilarious!
I've gotten so used to it now, and honestly I think my neighbors are quiet. It's all relative, right? My parents were here last weekend and were like oh my gosh what's all that noise, are they always so noisy? Lol!

Earlier today ours played indoor fetch with their dog. Did I mention the library is closed due to snow/ice, so DH is stuck here with me? If you see us on the news tonight...

Our apartment manager called us a couple of times in medical school. We still have no idea what we could've done differently. It was just the two of us, and I was working long hours while DH was in medical school and not home that often. When we were home, we wore house shoes and mostly sat at our computers gaming. No dogs, just a tiny cat. I think it's just loud when it comes from overhead. We still felt bad, but we just had to roll our eyes at how sensitive they were.

We haven't complained because, like LM said, I'm not sure what they could do differently. I wouldn't want to be held hostage in my own apartment either, so we just deal. We also really like them, so that helps. We just roll our eyes a lot or make up scenarios. "Ah, sounds like Max is practicing for his bowling league again."

We've always lived in cities and urban apartments before moving to the burbs after training. We live on a "busy" street here and we've had several,neighbor's move and sell houses because they can't deal with the traffic noise. We are like " what traffic noise??" Lol. Honestly, we lived on Broadway in a second floor un-airconditioned apartment next to a bus stop. Once you've listened to bus brakes, traffic and people boarding and exiting all night long, it's ALL peaceful.

It is all relative. I'm kind of glad nothing bothers me from the neighbors.

People freak out about airplane noise here because we are in DFW flight paths. I don't get it...we hardly ever hear it unless a jet is really really though and even then it's not awful.

Ha, we live right by the airport now and the planes are SO LOUD in the early morning and late at night! I don't really mind though because we're only here temporarily and the boys like watching all the planes overhead. I agree that it's all relative.

I miss the sounds of NYC: traffic, sirens, obnoxious people, gunshots, loud cars.... A few years into residency in Wisconsin, and I am finally used to the quiet, but it was too quiet at first and I could not sleep. The condo building I live in is made of concrete and brick and I really don't hear a peep out of my neighbors.

Hahaha exactly! I lived on 2nd Ave 3rd floor right next to the M15 - local and express stop. Plus, a huge hospital a block away, so plenty of sirens. Unfortunately my downstairs neighbors were total creeps who slept all day, partied all night, and smoked constantly.

This is my favorite quote I found to help me through those nights.
