  • I will shop at, or for xwy when I have $$$

    For me it's:

    Anthropologie
    Boden

    for shoes:

    Nordsturms!

(for a FEW things, not one to blast $10K for clothes)

    This therapy really is helping

I like Boden and the Mini Boden stuff is so cute too.

They don't send out a sale catalog but do have a sale section on their website.

William Sonoma (even though I have no idea what half of those things are for)
                Neiman Marcus
                Henri Benden
                Bergdorf Goodman
                Anthropologie
                ABC Home

Although I don't think I'll ever be able to actually pay full price for any of that stuff but at least I'll be able to afford the first round of sales and won't have to weight for the final 80% off.

There is a Hermes here in our town. Since I'm a total scarf junkie, I have this fantasy of being rich enough to just drop in and pick one from time to time. That's so not going to happen with my tightwad attitude.

Still, it would be nice to have that much dough.

I find that all my shopping money is going to kid's activities. Riding lessons = $200 a session; indoor soccer season = $260 a session; ballet = $150 a quarter; music lessons $20 a week......

There's a new reason to argue that kids are overscheduled. It's dang pricey.

I could say the same thing about some of the clothes/stores you talk about!

weekly massages at a full service spa (ohh.. Burke Williams)

Maybe I'm fooling myself, but why would we ever need anything more than IKEA, Gymboree, and Ann Taylor Loft?

If I'm going to spend money with abandon, its going to be on Travelocity.

And see... I would say the same thing about Old Navy.

When I am feeling a bit richer---

                          Pottery Barn
                          Ann Taylor
                          J. Crew (although I have been finding some great things on sale)
                          Banana Republic
                          Gas, and 4 kids

Big Blue for dh (although I will probably buy this for him during residency)
                            Miele vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, W/D
                            All-Clad pots and pans
Nordstrom (how many of you are going to butcher the name?)

I'm short and squat - I have to buy clothes that fit me otherwise I look even more short and squat. In other words, I don't save on clothes. I just have a couple of things from Nordstrom and Ann Taylor.

I'm 100% with Kelly on this one.

Travel to France and buy the f-ing pots, pans, and knives. and the wine.

Travel to Italy for anything that used to be part of a cow. and the wine.

Travel to Russia for fur-lined and gorgeous. and the vodka.

Travel to England for Burberry and Marks & Spencer. and the gin.

travel everywhere else because who knows what treasures can be unearthed...and what fabulous cocktails I can have whilst doing it.

Let me tell you that my retirement plans are this: sell all property. Buy two tiny apartments. One in LA, one in NYC. I will thus be close to any airport destination. Yes, I will travel the US. Those will involve long and arduous family vacations...
