  • Where do you shop?

Ok, I'm really bored today and there's no action here whatsoever.

What type of stores do you usually shop for clothes, shoes and accessories? A big department store, a chain store, boutiques, ebay, online stores? It'll also give me an idea as to kind of suggestion to give in the future and which direction to steer fashion-challenged.

For real stores, I'm including both their brick-n-mortar and online stores. By online stores, I mean places that only exist virtually.

I would say I get 90% of my clothes and specialty shops like Ann Taylor LOFT. I do shop at Macy's though some, but more for shoes and accessories. Of course our Macy's is better now then it was as Marshall Field's so I find myself in there a little more often.

      A combination of the above.

Most of my stuff I buy at Nordstrom. Ann Taylor if I'm looking for something in particular. JCrew rarely, because their stuff usually doesn't fit me very well (plus, they don't carry petites in their stores here).

I buy socks at Target. I used to drop A LOT of money on socks at the above stores.

I wish I could afford to be a boutique girl. Realistically, I probably spend 1/3 of my time and money in Bloomingdales, 1/3 in Loehmann's and 1/3 in chains (JCrew, BR, Gap, etc.)

I do plan to shop at Nordy's when we're done with training, I can afford it, and hopefully have one closer.

I voted low end dept....cause most of what I've been buying is Target, Sears and JCPenny....and that's pretty much all there is here besides boutiques I can't afford right now...

I like the Limited for pants....but I haven't found it here yet...I also like Macy's but the closest one is 3 hours away!

                  Bras: a boutique in DC

                  Socks, t-shirts, etc: Target

Exercise clothing, esp jogging bras: Title 9 or Lucy (This occsionally involves feeding my family mac and cheese for a week to afford to buy something)

Dress-up stuff: Vintage all the way

Shoes: birks off eBay, Running shoes from the local running store, work shoes- wherever

Work clothes: PX or Target. My excuse is that I work in social services and you only need to look presentable. and really, I'm working w/ disabilities and addictions. No one cares. Now, to meet with the bosses, do a presentation or speak at a conference? High end department store or boutique.

PS- I NEVER go to the malls to shop. I get claustrophobic when I enter the parking lots.
