  • Ok, now help us Petite gals - give us Petite Dos please :)

The worst for me is summer.

So... if I wear shorts, aren't burmuda's out, I'm 5'1" (not luck to be leggy like Davita )

What bottoms for the summer? Can I wear cropped pants (hope so I own some)

And skirts, I never know what to do, but I have some longer a-line skirts from Gap and Banana that hit the knee that I like, but never knew if this was ok for my highth.

I have a long torso and short legs

You other petite gals give tips or place your case for yourself too!

deleted pic it's making me ill, love the ideas though... The last two summers I"ve either been pregnant or pp and round in the middle and nursing. I need new summer stuff.

Ok this is me 3 summers ago, doing what I think was a fashion don't. The shoes are gone, as well as the backback, but I feel like an idiot in shorts. Please ignore the white as snow legs...

btw I totally think this is an overall bad pic of me...

see better pic of me in the introductions, know you with the camel ... why am I never in pictures....

I'm 5'3", so I def understand your plight. I was thinking why I'm so attached to bermuda shorts and I've realized it's because the bottom half of my legs are much thinner than the top and bermudas hit my leg at the perfect point. That's also the reason I like just below the knee skirts. But I'm a bit of an opposite from you in that my torso is really short and my legs are longer.

Since you have a longer torso, I'd say low slung anything is out. Luckily higher waists are coming back. Heels or wedges should be your best friend, if you can manage them. Stick to tops that don't go past your upper hip, so as to not elongate your upper body even more.

I'm on the prawl for some wedges. I like heels as long its a wedge/platform style. So should I try the burmudas? I'm scared half to death of them, but maybe I'll give them a whirl.

I just think they look terrible on everybody. Vishenka and I disagree on it but I just think that they look boyish/mannish. I think they make people look chunky and I hate where they hit on the leg. Who wants fat looking knees? (Or maybe that's just a personal thing... :huh I'd suggest capris over bermudas any day, and I stand by that!

                      Blech.

They look like you stole your skinny boyfriend's ill-fitting shorts. Sorry guys. I guess I'm going to have to go with "No comment." on the bermudas. Don't want to start a brawl over some shorts.

I think they'd look better if they were baggy instead of fitted. I can picture the fashion mag layout -- skinny, leggy girl in baggy bermudas with a wedge heel espadrille like thing and a cool (baggy because she's so thin) shirt walking arm and arm with male model on Caribbean street. Or sitting at cafe with outstretched leg laughing and sipping tropical drink. You pick.

Either way, I think the shorts would have to be baggier to look cool. This tight, I'd think that length would make anyone look curvier/fatter on the bottom half.

Personally, I think we should all wear whatever we want. As long as it is clean, comfortable, free of holes or stains, why begrudge the wearer? Unless it is a sleeveless t-shirt on a guy. Those should not be made. Even I have a few rules. Like no camel toe for instance.

As I have said, I have given up.

Stella, I hate that pic too, but bermudas can be done right. To me they don't chop off the leg as much.

Well, she's so damn skinny I bet she'd look good in anything!
I don't know, I'm still not a big fan. I think either shorts or lengthen the shorts by a couple inches. They just look boyish... Is it just me? Oh well!! Carry on with your bermudas!!

I reeeeally love the top. It looks expensive, though.
