  • The greatest shopping VICTORY!

So this one time, I went to TJ Maxx, and saw a pair of beautiful dark brown, stilleto, pointy toe, super soft leather Charles David boots. I looked online, and they retail maybe around $400 http://www.charlesdavid.com/?pageid=pro ... ageIndex=# At TJ's, they were marked down to about $150 or so, then marked down again to $70!!

I thought, ok, I'm not necessarily a label ho, so it was end of season and I thought, well, I don't really need boots.

I went back 2 weeks later, they were still there. This time, marked down to $40. I thought, ok, forty buckos. Can't go wrong. But as a broke college kid, it was $40 I could've spent on ramen noodles. So because there were so many clearance stickers on the bottom (looked like 20 piled on), I went to the front desk to see if these gorgeous boots were truly $40 bucks!

This lady is calling the manager, she went to the back to look at other boots, she's looking at the tags.

I panicked, why didn't I keep my mouth shut! What if they were really $70, and not $40. I was mad at myself.

She's on the phone with the store manager, "uh huh, yeah, hm? ok." She hangs up the phone. My heart is beating.

    "They're twelve dollars."

I grabbed those boots like they were my unborn children. I thought I was going to get mugged in the parking lot, so many ladies were giving me the eye and commenting on my $12 steal.

That is by far my greatest retail purchase.

Haha thanks. Sure, they were a little tight. But I just bought special spray for leather shoes, you spray the inside of the shoe, put them on, and it gently and safely stretches the leather. So now, they're perfect.

Anyone else have a good shopping story?

I live for bargains, it's definitely a hobby for me!

Wow! $12? I probably would have tried to sell them on ebay; that takes the fun out of finding such a good bargain. I'm glad you are enjoying them!!!

That kind of bargains is how I end up with closet full of brand new (tags still on) clothes that I realize I only bought because of the price.

Some of my best bargain scores:
Oscar de la Renta slingbacks - $15
                    Marc Jacobs jeans - $25
                    7FAMK jeans - $40
                    Laundry cocktail dress - $25
                    BR cashmere halter - $5
Wool Zenga sweater for DH - $50
RL cashmere sweater for DH - $50

Yeah, then I guess it's not really a bargain if you're never going to wear it, it just becomes a waste of money.

I'm definitely guilty of that :guilty:
