  • Capris, Part Deux

So now that we are a few weeks into the summer, let's hear how everyone is doing with the warm weather wardrobes. Are you wearing capris (and wearing them proudly??) Are you going to the park with the kids in your kitten heels? Tell all.

I have regressed. I had great intentions of being "stylish" this summer but the HEAT has caused me to wear shorts and t-shirts. Oh, and I got so sick of wearing a "cute" outfit only to have DD wipe her jam hands on my shirt. I am really, really starting to believe that there is no chance to be super stylish with young kids (you had me convinced for a few weeks, Vishenka and crew) My hair looks like crap because of the humidity and the need for a haircut (someone would make a TON of $$ if they would open a chic hair salon that welcomed kids!). And I *have* worn capris.

    And you?

BTW, Vishenka - if you don't mind, could you check out the Privo line at Zappos and tell me if they pass? Especially the ballet flat - http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/25910869/c/293.html

I wear lots of capris and sandals during the summer, I don't do shorts b/c of my "lovely" thighs. In fact I'm wearing capris to my casual business meetings for the next three days. :guilty:

To work I've graduated back to skirts and lightweight blouses or shirts with closed toe flats or my infamous birks. (some of them are fancy(ish), believe it or not!)

At home I'm in regular shorts and t-shirts but I hardly ever go anywhere in them.

I did buy a cute pair of ankle length wide leg pants in Navy that are fun and I have a pair of capri jeans that are nearly as comfortable as going nekked. Vishenka will have to pry them off my dead body in other words. I also bought a skirt (technically a skort) from Land's End that I wish I had bought in every available color. It looks like a skirt but I can chase a dude without exposing the nether regions. Brilliant.

Since I can fit into most of my size 8 shorts again, I've been wearing them but I think that some of them are too short for public events - they're more for athletic endeavors like walks or hikes.

I really need to do a major shop but I'm going to make due with what I've got for the summer if I can and before Rick gets home restock on basics- here in SA it doesn't typically get chilly until November and then it's 60, not 90.

These specific ones are cute, wasn't too crazy about the other styles.

I'm still against capris and back this up by personal example. My most favorite piece of clothing this summer has so far been Theory khaki pants that I got on sale for $25 paired with a $5 tank from JCrew and my favorite Havaianas flip flops.

Ok - I admit it I am wearing capris this summer. I went out and got those cute bermuda shorts and I guess my short frame is not meant to wear them. I look squatty??? - is that a word?? So, I am back to my tried and true capris. However, I am trying to be somewhat stylish (I think) and have been wearing shoes with a heel with the capris.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I have two pairs of Dockers Bermuda shorts and three t-shirts that are comprising the vast majority of my summer wardrobe, usually paired with Tevas. I gave up on trying to get a haircut with DS in tow -- even Supercuts was intimidating to me -- so I went ahead and let DH cut my hair. With the kitchen shears. You can't even tell since I wear my hair in a ponytail 24/7 (literally, I forgot to take it out the last few nights!)
