  • black dresses/ red shoes Q

I really like those black safari dresses that I am seeing everywhere, however, someone told me black is out. What if I wore the black safari dress with a pair of red heels (sandals or pumps)- would that spice it up a little?

Second Q- regarding the red heels- is the pointy-toe out, and the round toe in? Does it matter?

Help- someone in the fashion-know help me. I am visiting my fashionista cousins this fall, and don't want to look like a fashion-disastionista.

Black will never be out. If god forbid it will, I'll be walking around naked for the lack of anything non-black to wear.

I'm not sure the style of safari dress and red shoes will go well together. Can I see some examples?

Any toe is in, whatever looks better on you. If you have small feet or are short, then pointy toe will elongate your leg line. If you have large feet, rounded toe will make them appear smaller. As long as you stay away from the square toe, you're good.

      Hey vishenka-

Now that you said it, I agree that safari dress and red heels would be weird. I will just wear black heels with the dress.

      Two more Qs:

      1. On another note- are quilted pumps in?

      2. Do you think knee-high boots worn on the outside of the the jeans will still be in season this fall?

See, I usually buy clothes on ebay to save money, but am not sure what season I am buying. I am also the chick who still wears clothes from my high school days (15 years ago)- so I am pretty out of the fashion loop. I am meeting my cousins in Paris, and don't want to look like a total doofus.

I am glad you think black is not out. My wardrobe is basically black and grey with some colorful accessories or cashmere sweaters- just because not much thinking involved.

      Thanks for your input.

Not really. The only quilted shoe I'd vote for is the ballet flat.

I was never crazy about this trend. You're basically visually cutting your leg off in the middle. Unless you have Giselle's legs, I'd stay away from this trend.

Black is out????? HA HA! Black will ALWAYS be very, very in.

Sorry, I didn't read more than that, just thought I'd pipe in on that topic.
