I've got an appointment in August to have my hair cut (he books up 3 months in advance....I'm taking that as a good sign).

I've never really had a 'hairstyle.' I mostly keep it all one length and long. There were two ~1 year periods where I had a bob.....but other than that...all one length.

    I need inspiration!

So....how do you keep your hair? And how do you fix it each day? Post a pic of your hair....or if you don't want to show yourself...find a pic online with hair most similar to yours.

These pics are a little old....but they pretty much sum up my hair....kinda curly, mostly wavy, fairly frizzy and thick.

I usually keep it in a low bun or in a low ponytail. My hair is just past my elbows in length now.

Over the last three years, I've grown it out from Winona Ryder short about shoulder length. I like it long but also liked it to about the bottom of my ears. My hair is mostly straight.

I think that really good cut at all one length is worth it. Sometimes if it is too styled, it is hard to just pull it back which I imagine you like to do for your work.

Michele, I think you'll look good with some long layers that will give your hair some depth. As for styling, I'd either blow it out straight on humid days or scrunch it up for waves on non-humid ones. Have you considered highlights?

I'm currently growing mine out. I've had it on a short side (above my chin) for about 4 years now and got tired of that length. Plus I'm moving away from my hairstylist and longer hair will be easier to maintain without her.

Thanks! I do like pulling it back for work and Daegan duty. And non-humid days really only exist in the dead of winter here in the southeast! You both confirmed what I've been thinking.....stick with one length or add long layers. I am actually thinking about highlights too. My hair has been dyed black or very dark brown (my root color) for the past few years, but I'm thinking of warming it back up with a more medium brown or chocolate and cinnamon tones. It lightens in the sun naturally and gets a little mouse-y to me.

V-I'm going to try the blowout more often. I've got a great flat iron that gets used too rarely.

I still want to see the rest of your (iMSNers) hairstyles!!!

This was right after I got it cut. I do not take pictures well. I am forever looking like an idiot with my eyes closed or half-closed.

This is partially grown out. I don't like how it looks as well here.

ETA: It is cut in long layers. I have a super ton of hair. It may not look that way, but there is a lot there, A LOT. Anyway, I always cut it in layers to reduce a triangle-head look. I sometimes still get it (second picture a little) with humidity.

I don't have a picture but I just got it all cut off again. Actually, the person in the back of last months SELF magazine was my inspiration.

Yup. Most of the time my hair is pulled back or at least it is by the end of the day. It is just must easier to deal with that way. That is a main reason I would go back to lower ear/chin length. I haven't found a style that is long and stays out of the way.

im working on growing mine out a bit. im going for a slightly inverted cut. shorter in the back, longer in the front. im also growing my bangs out a bit. i have highlights too.

what you should do, is get some fashion or hair magazines and start cutting out styles you like. take as long as you need..that way you know you will LOVE it...then take those pics to a TRUSTED stylist and let them see what you picked...take it from there.
