  • Shoe divas... help?

I'm hardly a shoe diva, but I *live* in my Munros. I bought a pair of their "roma" shoes (they don't make them any more, but they're identical to the "susie", just without the detailing near the seam) years ago, and they're still going strong and look fine with a little polish. They go well with jeans or slacks. They are going to run more than $100, but they're well worth it if you want something comfortable that will last forever. Nordy's is the only major store that carries them, but they're also sold online and at some independent shops (I found a shoe shop near our house in Cleveland that carries the full line).

For what you're looking for, maybe the vivian, or liz, or cindi?

You need some new shoes, girlfriend.

These are kind of your style based on what you posted, but a little bit chicer looking...

Julia, I'm not a shoe diva but I do like shoes. I always walked a lot when I worked -- public transporation, running errands during lunch, etc -- and I couldn't pull off those cute heels Stella put up. I wish I could but but I get blisters and arch pain at the blink of an eye. If the same applies to you, maybe some of these will work. There are Sudini on there. I've had luck with those. Do you have a Nordstrom Rack?

Nellie- I like some of those... And they do have some in size 10.5, or 11, or the Euro. But....

2.5" heels... Mac would be so short. ANyone else out there with a same-height husband? Do you let him be shorter or what?

(Stella, cute... but I won't even post a pic of my shoes here b/c... :banghead: )

Julia- did YOU see anything you like?

For those who feel that they have very large feet, I would highly suggest going with a rounded toe (doesn't have to be completely round but not pointy). A pointy toe will only elongate your foot, whereas the rounded one will visually shorten it. A heel will also lift most of the foot off the ground, and as a result make it visually smaller as well (the less of the sole is touching the ground, the smaller the foot). Stick to the highest heel you can comfortably walk in, even if that means insoles (gels, arch supports, cushions, etc.). I highly doubt that any husband would object being seen with a gorgeous and self-confident woman who's an inch or two taller.

I am definitely not a shoe person (I like Birks) but my daughter just bought a pair of Cole Haan Nike Air dress shoes and she said they are the most comfortable shoes she has ever had. I think they were very pricey, but apparently she will wear them for a looooonnnng time.

Julia, the beauty of pumps is their versatility. They can be worn with pants, skirts, interview suits or even a little black dress. If you invest in a good pair, they'll last for years.

Yes, you get credit for trying! Don't let that get to you.

I think the Rack has some great shoe finds. And the best thing is that you can try them on. You could look for that Sofft brand there or some of the others that were listed on that page. I have a pair of Sudini boots with 3" heels that are very comfortable. I still can't wear them for an entire day but they treat my feet well. I have found Sudini at the Rack.

The Sofft ones might be worth checking out. I have removed embellishments from shoes or had a shoe repair do it. Sometimes it can be done without damaging the shoe.

Lily, when I saw those my first reaction was "crutches and ankle braces"!!!!

Julia, enjoy your new shoes. And just remember that there's no such thing as too many shoes (of any color).
