Last week there was someone on Oprah telling people how to dress for success. He said hose should always match shoes. Is this true? I've never heard that.

I love the tights look with boots and a sweater dress.

I don't know what the rules are, so I can't help. Just wanted to express my excitement for my favorite fall look.

Luanne, it all depends on the occasion and the outfit. If you're dressing for a corporate environment or an interview, I'd advise to stay on the conservative side and go with nude hose. Depending on the shoe and the outfit, you may want to match hose to shoes for the lengthening effect Lily mentioned but not all colors are good for this (red being one of them). Black is always good, as it also provides slimming effect on top of lengthening. If in doubt, go with black shoes/boots and black opaque tights in colder months and nude hose with beige shoes in warmer months.
