  • Help with bridesmaid shoes

Okay, this is the dress I have for a wedding in march...
    http://www.billlevkoff.com It is style # 301

The colors are dark purple for the dress and a light purple for the sash.

She told us to get black strappy shoes...

Do you think that's the best choice?

Personally I would have chosen a silver strappy sandal but I guess black is OK... at least you will all use them again. But you'd probably be able to reuse silver too.

If you're matching a dark purple dress, black strappy shoes should be fine. It may look a little off in direct sunlight, but if the wedding is indoors or in the afternoon with an evening reception, I don't think many people will really notice. Besides, for bridesmaid shoes its always best to stick with what you can reuse, and black strappy shoes can always go with something else.

One of my fashionista bridesmaids wore beautiful silver shoes to my outdoor May wedding with a dark navy blue dress, and her feet stand out in all the pictures (and not in a good way). Unless the flooring being used for the walk down the aisle is light colored (light colored concrete, marble or tile), I wouldn't recommend going with the light colored shoes.

I agree that unless you can convince all BMs to wear a different color shoe, just stick with black. With strappy sandals there's so little material that from afar it'll go well with dark purple and won't look like a completely different color.
