I wonder if I can go to Vegas with just a toothbrush and a case for my contacts. There are also suppose to be 2 new outlet malls in the vicinity of the strip. What will I regret more not checking them out or not seeing the Canyon/Dam/Valley, etc.?

They've got a Premier Outlet mall near downtown. You can easily stop over on your way back from the Valley, if you take I-15 back into town.

You can stop at the outlet mall on the Strip on your way to Hoover Dam.
