What pieces do you really want for Spring and Summer?

I went shopping today and picked up a bunch of stuff.

This shirt from Ann Taylor Loft



A couple of sweater hoodies from Boston Store, one a pull over and one a zip front.

And best of all 2 faux wrap style dresses from Macy's for 30 bucks each. I even have the right shoes for one of them. The other I can live with what I've got for now... They are so cute, but apparently no longer on the Macy's site...

I soooo needed a revamp of my spring/summer wardrobe.

I want that black trench as well. Let me know when you find it. I just ordered one from Bluefly. We'll see. I found a super-cute light pink one from Bloomingdales and they sent the wrong size and are now sold out. Drat. I tried on a bunch on Friday and after trying on the Burberry, it will be hard to find one that compares.

I also wanting a pair of red shoes, for summer, but don't have anything more specific than that in mind. Almost all of my shoes are black for reasons of practicality and I figure it is time for something different.

Well, it's already mid-80's most days so I'll continue with my floaty cotton or cotton blend skirts and a sweater set since the AC in most places is set at -40. It's supposed to be 88 on Friday.

I want evening wear that is not so booby-centric and a workable color for those with a skin color that can only be described as "pre-embalmed". I'll hedge and say that black is not so hot on me and my chest isn't my greatest asset. These type of dresses represent 90% of all that is out there. It's not that I'm overly demure, I just don't have the girls to carry this off.

Kelly, have you tried deep jewel tones? As for the girls, what about extra padding?

I don't really have very specific wants for this Spring/Summer, I'll take more of anything. More specifically almost everything currently displayed in any Anthropologie store.

Who can wear this? I have hips and a waist...

I really like them, but unless you are a waif, it just doesn't work. I know that having a narrow waist is my best asset and I need clothes with little to no ease to show that off.

If you like those shirts, you can always add a belt to accentuate your waist.

Even when I do something like that it still looks stupid. I'm also not a huge fan of the large horizontal details right at hip level. There's nothing like calling out the fact that I am bottom heavy.

I want any kind of maternity cocktail dress that would make me look sexy and sophisticated...not a dowdy, frumpty, moo-moo thing. I have FOUR (count'em...FOUR) cocktail dress occasions for DH's dept in the next eight weeks. I would really like him to think I look attractive, rather than looking like I showed up out of duty and am using pregnancy as an excuse for looking like my great-grandmother at a mah jong competition.

Abigail, Nordstrom has tons of great options for maternity cocktail dresses and separates. Do you have one nearby?

Same here. I can never get wrap dresses to look right. I don't think I am long enough from shoulder to waist. :huh:
