  • Good for your feet casual shoes/ sandals

I have lived up north most of my life. Absent work/ dress occasions I live in either boots or flip flops. Now we are moving to FL and I need to get out of my flips and expand my summer shoe repertoire.

What I am looking for is good for your feet casual shoes and sandals. I saw Dansko in the back of Yoga Journal but also saw that cupcake did not have a good experience with them in this thread.

So retail mavens - what say you??

I wear birkenstocks for 90% of my occasions but in my defense, I have Bad Feet (I'm paying for wearing heels on Wednesday- still) and birks does make some cute (for Birkenstocks) shoes.

I don't see Birks as much of an improvement over flip flops. But that's just something that Jenn and I will always disagree on. What about canvas espadrilles? They can be either flat or with a wedge and will not bind your feet in any way. I like that they can be worn with shorts, jeans, dresses, pretty much anything.

I am not opposed to Birks - Jenn, do you have any styles you prefer? Are they really good for your feet?

I googled for canvas espadrilles and saw a bazillion styles. I will check them out. I wonder if Naturalizers would be good - they just seem so old ladyish to me they are probably really comfy though....

To the Danskos defense, I have had that problem with the clogs but not the sandals. I'm not sure what about them makes me roll my ankle. I have had sandals and did not have that issue at all. I think the heel is a little lower, maybe that is why?

I am on my feet most of the day and LOVE born shoes/sandals/clogs. I have feet that are on the wider side, and they work just fine for me. I like Clark's shoes, too, but they are usually a little too narrow.

              I have a love-hate relationship with Danskos.

They're really comfortable for standing in, but not so great for walking... I have taken some really bad falls in their clogs. As, in flat on my face. Once on concrete. I was in Germany last summer, and it had just rained. I fell on top of my laptop. It was awful. The other time, I rolled my ankle and fell on a shaggy carpet. Ugh.
