  • post partum dressing

In the spirit of being good to myself instead of beating up my psyche over my post partum body, I've been picking up a few things that will work when I'm nursing and leaky all over in the first early days.

For DH's graduation dinner (worn with some post-nuclear holocaust strength Spanx):

For recovering post baby, except I bought brighter summer colors:

And I purchased two *flattering* nursing bras that lift the girls to their rightful place. They have come a looooong way in nine years with nursing bras.

I know these aren't haute couteur, but this is better than some of the crap I've worn post baby #1 and 2.

I like the dress - I can only imagine the undergarments necessary to wear it post-partum. I work something in a similar type of fabric only with a print to DH's graduation last weekend and had the "post-nuclear holocaust strength Spanx" type underwear too!

Gah! I wish I would've bought some better nursing bras. No point now, but that would've been a smart purchase 9 months ago!!!

Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

Beautiful dress. Great color--very cheery and perfect for a celebration! I am so impressed you'll be able to pull it off post-partum! I was in shapeless yoga pants the entire autumn... I should have gotten some Spanks, sound like!

You'll look great in the dress!

Spanx to the rescue. The last time I wore Spanx was at a wedding and it was 90 degrees! Wishing you a nice, cool day!

Perfect, dahling. I heart empire waists. They're so forgiving. And the zipper hoodie is cute and perfect for whipping out your great new nursing bras on demand. Summer clothes are so much better for post partum. Splurge on some nice nursing PJs too. You'll live in them the first couple of weeks. You might as well feel good about them.

I always laugh when I see the magazine covers of stars two weeks post partum with their high heels and couteur dresses. (See Jennifer Lopez twin layout with bustier top, flair out skirt, and three inch heels).

In contrast, I'm doing a good job to have a shower and NOT wear my husband's shirts.

Or Angelina Jolie in People right after having twins and a Csection. It's like a parallel universe.

I like the dress Kelly, it’s very pretty.

I’ve never heard of spanx before, I think I need to try them!
