  • Spanx help!

Ok, if you have used Spanx or something similar what worked the best. I have a post-pregnancy pooch. As in a freakin roll that hangs over my stomach. Spanx has so many options I don't no where to begin. The higher power panties http://www.amazon.com/Higher-Power-w...0603393&sr=1-1 seem most economical, but they are so cheap compared to others like this http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-hi-rise-...0603393&sr=1-4 that I wonder about the support. I'm wearing this under a dress for a wedding.

These are very similar to the ones that I wore to DH's graduation dinner when I was ten day post partum with baby number three. They had a lot of work to do and I highly recommend them. Even though they are pricey, I highly recommend them. You will use them over and over again. I would recommend getting more of a flesh tone color, if possible to hide them in future outfits. Black only works under some garments.

They work, but I almost broke my neck trying to go to the bathroom.

I love Spanx. However, I don't like the high-waisted ones because they roll down when you sit and they are tricky to wear if you don't get the waistband perfectly straight. Get the standard ones that fit like a girdle.

Thanks! I knew the cheaper ones were too good to be true!

The opposite happens to me....but I am apple shaped - as in my waist is about as wide as my hips. The shoter ones roll down and the higher waist ones are the only ones that work for me.

I'll let her do the talking!

I wore Spanx (actually Target Assets) to a wedding (the one I posted about in the above thread). They work great! Have your dh help stuff you into it. It was 95 degrees in October, and I was sweating like nothing else in the thing.

My only advice: cluster pee before you go to the wedding. It's quite an ordeal to get these things on and off.

Me too (at least I was a few months ago before Baby K). Try the ones that fit between the waist and mid thigh.

                        Re: Target brand vs Spanx.

Have both and both work well. HOWEVER, as sausaging your body goes....I think that Spanx is more comfortable. The seam does not cut into your skin as much. ***take "comfortable" to mean as much comfort as you can get from sausaging yourself into one of these.

I just tried on some old Assets I had and it didn't do shit for the baby pooch. I guess I need better reinforcements.

I got these back in June for BIL's wedding. I found them more breathable than Spanx and they didn't flatten my butt as much. Didn't have any problems going to the bathroom. I tried on at least 10 different options at the store and sat and bend down in all of them. These didn't roll at all either in the dressing room or at the wedding and everyone commented on how great and slim I looked.

I wouldn't order something like this online prior to trying on unless there's a free return shipping option. You'll never know how they fit until you actually have them on.

I'll look out for those! I think once my dress gets here I'll just make a trip to the mall and try them all on.
