I also vote sari. Based on what they say on the website it seems that it would be welcome, and it sounds like the option you would be most comfortable in.

ooooh -- that would make life so much easier. i have about 15 or 20 of them to choose from -- hell - I could even wear my wedding sari (you're allowed to re-wear them, i was encouraged to wear it to my BIL's wedding!). and could totally do it up w/the jewelry, too.

          hmmmm ... i'll have to discuss w/dh.

This masquearade theme makes me want to go to the kids' dress up trunk and pull out a princess gown. Think Giselle and go full out princess glitter.

Oh Luanne! I'm such a spaz. Lol. I forgot about that other thread. (eyeroll)
my girls...they're boarder line 5T 6x depending on the clothing of course.
I have winter coats and bibs for them, and boots. But their little legs grew on me. Lol. I'll be on the hunt for longer pants. Thanks for thinking of me! I very much appreciate it

ITA! The dress could work if you find the right colored mask to go with it.

It does sound from the description that a festive sari would be an option. In case you decide to go with a dress after all, I like these two options:

                      http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3058467/...bo=2374394&P=4

                      http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3019384/...bo=2374394&P=2

I would also look into Tadashi and Carmen Marc Valvo dresses, they often have more support in their structure.

As for masks, I was thinking something along the Venetian ones. You can also just wear a black cape that hides you neck or even head (hood) to toe and a really elaborate Venetian mask.

Is it just me or does this shin-dig sound kinda fun? Getting dressed up to go and people watching when you are there may be the best part.

It could be really fun, I totally agree. It's just that when you’re plus sized there is a lot of extra stress because clothing is so limited. On top of that she is looking for something different, comfortable, yet sliming. Overall think your right, the people watching is going to be the best part of the whole thing!!

Ditto that plus size statement, moonlight. Finding something "normal" sized is hard enough...let alone over a 14. Thankfully(?) the clothing now a days, doesn't look like old granny wear!!
When we shredded all our credit cards last year, lane Bryant was the only one I kept because their clothing wasn't as old granny looking
I can now say tho...I don't need the LB card anymore, but it is a daily struggle!

Jenn, I know you will look hot when you go!
