Binders used to be issued in the hospital post c-section. They were stopped for a few reasons, but mostly because they restrict blood flow and can really slow the healing process and because women didn't feel as much discomfort while wearing them, and did too much post-op. All three of my OBs (we move every time I'm pregnant) have highly recommended against using one.

I've had two c sections and after my 2nd - wow. My stomach is no longer like it used to be. I had girls tells me after 2 csections is when their stomach did not recover - too stretched out. I wish I had known about belly binder - I got one post csection but eventually stopped using it b/c it bugged the fool out of me.

The concept makes sense. I don't know though -- I'm a back sweater, so I imagine I'd sweat under that thing like nothing else. TMI?

I think for now, I'll just let my body be. I was told at the party I went to on Friday that I was looking "great," but that's because I was carrying the baby in a sling and was hiding all the problem areas.

This is a huge issue for me...I sweat like crazy after each baby for a couple of weeks. It is truly embarrassing. A full-on girdle would just add to the nastiness. I did use a tummy belt from Motherhood materity for a couple hours a day. Sorry...tmi.
