  • Cold weather = limp hair?

We are having a cold front (well cold is relative and to me mid-60's is cold). My hair sucks! I have thick curly hair that really likes the humidity... But today it was so flat. I did everything the same as I normally do.

Wash, condition, wide-tooth comb, curl creme, scrunch, let air dry.

I'm guessing it's a combo of the decrease in humidity and the cool air? My hair isn't really long enough to pull back everyday anymore, and I'd like to get some use out of my new color. Actually styling my hair is such a new concept to me....throughout highschool, college and vet school, I rocked the ponytail, braid, flatiron or bun....I've finally embraced my curls and now they are flat!

I have pretty curly hair and I have the same problem--I usually touch up with a curling iron.

I find my hair curls best when I take a shower right before bed and sleep on it immediately.

      I'll try washing before bed.

Try cutting down on the styling product, you might end up with better results if you use less. Also flipping my head and fluffing the roots after it's almost dry helps too.

OH my- I would have Mufasa head if I slept with wet hair. I have to wet the mane each morning. I donor lack body in my tresses. . I do notice a difference when humidity is low. I take advantage and wear it straight...since those days are few.

ITA with the using less product.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Oh, and I have found that mixing a teaspoon of baking soda in with my shampoo every so often does a good job of cleaning off that extra buildup

I would try a good clarifying shampoo, have you ever used a dry shampoo instead of a wet shampoo?

Nope, never used a dry shampoo. Where would I get one?

I'll try getting rid of buildup...though it doesn't seem like I have much (I can usually tell).

I'll also try using less product. And maybe actually pulling out my diffuser instead of just air drying.

I am not sure who would have it, but a lot of lines carry one. BEDHEAD, Paul Mitchell. I would just look around. And the diffuser will help a lot. Maybe just try switching up your shampoo ever once in a while.
