  • Taking suggestions on Christmas gift for ME

I just remembered today that last year, DH bought a present for himself, and put it under the tree from Santa. Nothing for me. Ok, it was only a DVD but WTH?? I thought, "next year I'm getting something good for me from Santa too!" I know, so selfish! But I'm not sure what to get - not too expensive, but something that's a treat, not something I need.

    Taking suggestions....

Just adding that I got a steam carpet cleaner one year. After I had gone out and done the shopping for him for his nurses, who got spa packages. We had an interesting chat about that.

:start hijack: You are killing me. Thanks for the giggle!! (And I am sure that you are getting a kickback!) I have thought of someone who I think would really like one - and when I told DH - he gave me a weird look and wondered where I'd gotten the idea! :P :end hijack:

Lynn - My advice for a gift for yourself - make yourself a basket of spa-products (in my case it would be all of those products I NEVER allow myself to buy at Target). Something only you can enjoy. Even better - take yourself to a store with a specified amount of $$ and just buy impulsively until you run out. Good luck!!

Well, I only said 30 to keep it within the same price range. However, if all bets are off - I say 120 plus facial, mani/pedi, etc.

Oh my goodness, massages are so inexpensive around here. I could get a full hour for $45. There are several massage schools around. Great idea!

Haha - I have accused SoonerTexan of getting a kickback from the fabric shaver companies because it seems to come up in every gift-related thread. (She isn't, she is just really excited about her new one...and she has brought my awareness of the potential applications to be honest), so I can't help but to tease her a bit.

And if massages are that affordable -- GO FOR IT...twice!!

Yes, I really am still that excited about it...and strangely enough, it looks like this same discussion came up two years ago

Oh, I don't know if it counts as inexpensive...but I would spring for a nice hair straightener if you straighten your hair.

CHIs are awesome (I'm getting one for Christmas), but this one is half the price and pretty darn good as well--served me well over the past 2 years

If you drive more than just around town at all, I'd get a GPS system. Keep in mind that we've lived in five places in the last seven years, but it has been my best friend in so many situations! Another plus is that I feel more free to go and check out places I've never been because I know I can always find my way home.

I also second the massage idea.

I have to confess...Santa bought me a beautiful bracelet yesterday, even though DH and I bought each other a new washer/dryer for Christmas on Black Friday. If you're in the market for any consumer goods, there are great deals right now.

I have to say my cooking class at the chi-chi grocery store was FUN. (It was my birthday present from my husband- picked out of the brochure and circled with a sticky note that said, "if you're looking for something to get me for my birthday."
