Nordstroms all the way... I also got fitted at VS and the girl was so dumb, she had me try on a bra it was so tight i thought I was going to die and she said "looks great." That is when I left and have never bought another bra from VS again.

I, too, had a horrible experience at VS...they tried to put me in a "sister size", which resulted in a horrible boob-crease and spillage I went back (because I didn't know any better), and the lady that time put me in a 32 DD My boobs are not that big - at all - but it's the most comfortable I've felt in a bra...
I am going to have to try one of the places that you have recommended!

This makes me think of my own experiences, and I have a question for all the Nordstrom users out there. I am a between-sizes kinda girl (always have been, unfortunately) and can never seem to find a cup that works. Does anyone know of a great line that caters to this?
A C can be tight, and the D's I just received for Xmas are really comfy, but too big.Wife to Family Medicine attending, Mom to DS1 and DS2

I always thought I was a size 34 in the band, given the most popular sizes that places like Victoria's Secret carry. It turns out I'm a size 30 and two cup sizes bigger. Go get sized by a pro. VS girls don't count. I found some beautiful bras on www.figleaves.com and I'm a huge fan, but you'd have to be OK with sending bras that don't fit back if you go that route.
I, too, have a 30-band and a ridiculous cup size. I normally get my bras at Town Shop or online. I'd never heard of figleaves, but I'll definitely add that as a bookmark!
I've never understood why it's so hard to find cute bras in anything larger than a C-cup...Back in the Midwest with my PGY-2 ortho DH and putting my fashion degree to good use.

I went to Nordy's today, and got fitted. My cup size is the same (yay), but I know my breasts are different (not as perky). I bought this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3035131?...=searchresults
I'm having buyer's remorse. $88 for a bra?! I think I'll take it back... It's so pretty though.married to an anesthesia attending

Some of you may remember my last experience with Victoria's Secret Sales staff. I went in to buy pajamas for my daughters for their Easter Baskets (both in college). I held up a cami/shorts set and asked if they had it in an XS. She (sales) looked at me and said "Are you sure you don't want to try a larger size?" I was shocked, did she think I was so stupid to think that I could put my size 12 ass in an extra-small.Luanne

Re: Bra
Confession: I used to work at VS and Les Wexner is my CEO crush. I'd love to work for any of the Limited Brands corporate.
But! You're totally right about the sizing. Mine may have been a unique situation as I was hired in August, moved to New York for school in the fall then started working at Christmas. But I was never trained. All I learned was to not climb ladders and not sexually harrass. Yet, come semi-annual sale time, I was told to wear a pin saying "Ask me for a fitting". Ack! The bra boxes were my friend... I totally took the guess and check approach.

I don't know- that's really not that much for a GOOD bra that fits. I'd pay anything for a decent bra that fits properly.
I found a great place in DC (after the Oprah show) and discovered that I was off by two full cup sizes. Scary.
I need to go and get fitted again because the cheap-o ones that I buy- 1) don't last- 2) lost their shape quickly- even with hand washing) and 3) are ugly.
