I always break mine, DH says because I buy the cheap ones. Are ray-bans worth it?

Considering the way I break or lose sunglasses every season, hell no!! Once a boyfriend bought me a nice pair of Ralph Laurens and I was soooo sick when I lost them! I never spend more than $20 tops on a pair of sunglasses.

I used to get mine from the mall kiosk - the knock-off designer brands! They held up fairly well and I didn't feel bad if something happened to them. Being a regular old glasses wearer, I"m actually good with my stuff. So finally, I decided to upgrade to my babies: http://www.oakley.com/women/pd/6101 I LOVE them

But, if you are one to lose, or damage, then it might make you ill to do so with an expensive pair

I don't know about Ray-bans but I think if you know they're expensive you're more likely to take a little bit better care of them. I used to go through sunglasses like water until I had to get a prescription pair now I do a MUCH better job of taking care of them and have had them for a couple of years.

I am the same way. Always losing breaking sunglasses. I did find on 6pm.com Oakleys for $40. I bought two - one for prescription and one for my contacts. They have held up well. However, especially the prescription ones, I always put them back in their case - it is hard to lose that giant white case. The non prescription have fallen off when I put them on my head.

I found that a good pair (bought at end of the summer on sale) will last at least a couple of years. I keep mine in a case in the car, they're on my head when I'm in a store/restaurant. They do fall occasionally but seem to do better than cheap ones in terms of scratching. I spend about $100 on them but keep them for 2-3 years.

I love my Raybans. I have had them nearly 3 years. In Florida it is a must everyday for me to wear the sunglasses. I have a pair of Coach and Croc sunglasses but neithet compare to the polarized Raybans. My eyes feel relaxed after wearing them.

                    Re: Sunglasses

I have polarized Oakleys that I love. My sis has a pair of polarized Raybans that she loves so much she replaced them after she lost the first pair. I think good sunglasses are definitely worth the cost. Russ wears Oakleys too and my BIL wears Costa del Rays. We are all Florida people who spend time on the water (at least when we aren't landlocked due to training!)

With 300+ days of sunshine here, I practically live in my sunglasses year around which also means I need to have 2-3 pairs within reach so that is another reason why I must buy the cheapies.

Cheapies for me! DH has expensive Native sunglasses that have interchangeable lenses. He loves them. I think it's a waste of money, and I won't pay more than $10 on a pair of sunglasses. I typically spend less than $5, and have been known to get them at the Dollar Tree. I personally don't see the difference.

I went and tried some on. I really like them but the sticker shock. 189..... that is a bit hard to get over.

Bokelley - go online. You'll find some great deals. Like I said my Oakleys were $40!! I have also bought Silllouetttes for half the price online. DH also found a great deal on Rudy Project.

I have a pair of Oakley's which have been great.

They are polarized, but I think meant for more lifestyle than sport. But they have been great for being out and about. I have some Tifosi for being active like cycling or running in. They are GREAT! I mean great! They are super light weight and relatively cheap like 59 bucks!
