  • Help! I'm in a style rut...

I must change my shirt at least 3x/day, and most days, go through about 2 pairs of pants. Dd gets food-prints all over me. The other day, I noticed my socks were drenched, and it was only then looked at the soles of my Keen slip-ons to find that they had holes in them.

I only wear v-neck t-shirts and jeans. Now that the seasons are changing, I find that it's too cold to wear my trusty outfit... I may even need to invest in a cardigan or some sort of sweater.

Oh man... Things are not looking good. I feel myself letting go of my pride. I could care less about what I look like, but do find that when I DO care about what I look like and actually PUT makeup on, I feel better about myself.

Any ideas about what I could do to spruce up my wardrobe for fall? What's in style these days anyway?

Do you like sweaters? There are some really great ones in the stores this season in all different shapes and styles. I tend to do a lot of layering (thank you, NW upbringing) and use lightweight, long and short sleeved T's from Old Navy under my favorite sweaters.

        I do like sweaters!
I'm in the NW, too, so layering is a good thing this time of year.
I feel like I could use a sweater or two that would
jazz up my usual t-shirt and jeans.

Old Navy is having a big sale on their long sleeve shirts, I suggest you stock up in several colors. I would suggest either bright cardigan and muted t or the other way around. Don't be afraid to mix several colors in one outfit.

Here are some cardigan ideas (all are petite, so the length won't swallow you),

          I also like denim leggings,

            Thanks! You ladies are awesome!!!
I went out and bought some sturdy mom boots at Cole Haan today. I freaked out at dh about how I never do anything for myself these days, and so we piled into the car, and spent way too much money on a new pair of shoes for me.

            Sorry for rambling here!!!

I have been hiding behind a worn out, pilling fleece jacket.
Sometimes it really feels like it doesn't matter what I wear because it's not like I'm going anywhere anyway... . And let's face it, I'm not living in what you'd call a fashionable city, so the motivation to keep up with anyone is almost non existent.

I'm just so tired of seeing my sad self in the mirror...

One thing is that I think I'll need a cardigan with a closure of some sort. I have an old one that I accidentally closed up in dd's diaper as I was changing her...

The Old Navy sweaters are surprisingly nice, especially for the price. But some of the styles run REALLY large. Some were almost two sizes off. But they have a good selection of cute ones. Lots with button or toggle closures.

I've been on the hunt for great sweaters for a while now. DH is always giving me crap about only ever wearing polar fleece and Birkenstocks. I'll give up the polar fleece for other cute warmness, but he isn't getting my Birks.
