Heidi (and everyone else), you're just being so hard on yourself. It's all about confidence. You have to like yourself and accept whatever shape/size you are first, otherwise you'll hate anything and everything you put on. Of course correct undergarments help too.

Shoe shopping is what I hate most. I have a really narrow foot. So I can't wear most shoes

I think this is the key. When you shop, you have to spend all that time looking in the mirror and it just isn't pleasant. I'm trying to rid myself of these thoughts so I can model strong body image for my daughter, but the truth of the matter is that it is just hard.

And this is why I will never get there. I do not like my body or accept it.

I'll do it. Let me know when you are available, and we'll shop. Keep in mind that a lot of the "fall" clothes aren't going to work for me, and I need very few of these pieces in my wardrobe. I mostly need summer wear. That said, whenever is a good time for you, I'll book a trip up there and we'll do a shopping weekend. I'll let you make me over.

We might need to make this an annual thing for me, or sem-annual. I need a lot of help.

I'm totally taking you up on this once I have some time and money (ie in 5-7 years when DH is done with training).

If you plan it far enough in advance and dh can get time off, I'll try to make it. Sounds so awesome!

I'm so ready for training to be over! I'll be there in a heartbeat when I actually have a clothing budget!

Heidi, have you ever seen Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime? The show isn't all that but the main character is a plus size and her wardrobe is amazing. I would advise anyone who believes that there are no good looking clothes for size 14 and up to watch at least a few episodes.

With enough notice, I'm in for the NYC weekend too.

I'm in if it's that weekend. Can't the next weekend, I'll be leaving to hit Punta Cana.

I'll need to double check with my mom, but so far that weekend works. Heidi, if you fly into Newark, I can pick you up on the way to the city. There are also shuttles (trains and/or buses) to Manhattan from all 3 airports.

I would so be there with you, but I'll be in Vancouver 10/29 to 11/6. If you are still there on Sunday I would love to come into the city and meet you guys for lunch.
