  • Lily and Viskenka quick question

Dh gets out early today from work, so he can watch the baby while I have some me-time.

I'll be getting my brows waxed and will have some time to look for shoes!

I have a dark brown dress that has a slight sheen to it. I'll be wearing it at an evening party. Style-wise, it is very similar to this:

    http://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=23439&N=1200007&pCategoryId= 3939&categoryId=180&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_180&loc=TN&gri dSize=sm&showAll=true&defaultColor=Vintage%20Rose& defaultSizeType=Regular

What color and style shoes can I wear with it? Is it ok to wear tan even if it's an evening function?

Also, my legs could use some elongating.

    TIA

I'm no fashionista, but I would think tan might look funny with a dark dress. I would be more inclined to go with a metallic - maybe a dark bronze...

I think you're right, Kris. I would like to have dressy shoes, but not accentuate my unfortunate legs...

Having, um, stout, legs, I completely get that. But, I've finally come to realize that there is only so much hiding I can do... I studiously avoid strappy shoes and go with something with a slightly pointy toe. Both tend to de-emphasise my cankles.

I know.... Embrace the cankles. It sucks that I'm also very petite, so dark shoes will make me look even more stout.
Lily -- I fear that animal print will make my feet look like pigs in blankets. I'll see what I can find in a bronze.

A Dorsay won't necessary be so heavy looking since a lot of the material is cut away. Something that cups your heel but is strapy across the ball of the foot works too. Just don't do gladiator style...
