Um, can someone post some basic guidelines for what hosiery is appropriate for what kind of outfits?

On Saturday, I wore a black lace cockttail dress with 3" black pumps. Underneath the lace overlay was a nude slip that showed through the dress. I couldn't figure out if I should have worn sheer hose or see through black. TIA

I think either would have been fine but I've been hearing lately that nude hose are out of fashion.

Yeah, I think tights or bare legs are the way to go, fashion-wise. I occasionally still wear hose but usually end up feeling silly about it.

I never wear pantyhose anymore...probably because they never fit my big ole thighs properly and I think that bare can look better than with hose.
