You can always do touch-ups in between, but you'll have a starting point!
Yes! I bought my own wax (Sally Hansen--Ulta or Walmart) and do my own every two to three weeks. You get the hang of it. I touch up with tweezers in between. I like waxing because I can do above my eyebrows--there is a bunch of fine hair there that just looks messy. I also have an eyebrow brush and a brush the hair straight up, trim to the edge, then brush the hair down and do the same.

It's a guys guide, but hey, I'm part Italian. I have a lot of hair:

if you can handle it, let them grow back. Then get them waxed at a salon. You can then do the upkeep tweezing by following the shapes that are already there.

Waxing breaks my skin out so I prefer to tweeze. I have a natural arch so I just follow that shape and use an Anastasia eyebrow pencil (the best!) to fill out the shape. A good arch is like an instant facelift. Get help the first time and then you can follow it.

DONT try waxing on your own. I could tell you a story. It wasn't funny at the time. I would definitely find a place to wax. I actually go to the hair school in KC when I am home because they are inexpensive. Ive never had a problem with them. After that I try hard to keep up with tweezing, but eventually have to go back and get them cleaned up again. I always feel better after I get mine waxed.

I've always plucked mine but I enjoy plucking. Weird, I know. In the past I didn't have a great shape but years ago I watched a ton of What Not to Wear and the makeup artist Carmidy always went over the shape to go for. You can also find some guides online, but if it's your first & you have a lot of hair I think going to a salon for a cleanup waxing or threading would be the way to start. Then you could pluck strays & either go back to a salon or do it on your own.

Supposably one of the first things the doctor said to my mom after I was born was a comment on my great eyebrows. I only need to tweeze about 15 hairs total between both sides....and it only makes them look better....they don't look bad if I neglect them. Unfortunately I think P got Russ' eyebrows. And if she did, we will hit the salon regularly until she feels comfortable taming them herself!

I've had mine waxed and threaded, but the last time I had them waxed I had an allergic reaction and it was horrible!! lol Lately, I've been plucking on my own to save a little money and I use one of those two sided mirrors where one side is major close up - that seems to make it easier and they turn out good. Just watch allergic reactions to wax!! lol

I wax my eyebrows every 6 weeks at the hair salon while I am getting my hair cut. I do some plucking in between visits, but I try not to do too much, because I have a tendency to go overboard. After the salon has created your arch shape and they keep it up over the course of a couple of months, you become accustomed to keeping up the shape in between visits. I hope your razon burn doesn't hurt too much!

Sorry, I have absolutely nothing to contribute to this thread.

Maybe "Retail Therapy" should be retitled "Guys - move along, nothing to see here..."

I could start a thread about the tools we've bought to redo the house, if that would help.

I bought an amazing compound miter saw last year. Never doing it the old school way again!
